Event

Fife College delivered an Open Day for S3 Glenrothes students in November. The cohort of pupils got the opportunity to see what the College would be like and to find out information on the foundation apprenticeships available to them in S4.

Fife College delivered the whole session with pupils going round various activities including media, electricial, jewellery making, game design & virtual welding. Each activity was well structured and had such an enjoyable element. The 12 pupils who attended are all in line to attend college next year as part of their senior timetable and found out valuable information.

Pupils were paired into groups with other schools, allowing them to mix and learn from others. Each group was then sent to a classroom to learn about and each available course the college is offering for foundation apprenticeships. The pupils were spoken to by lecturers and Fife College staff about the benefits of the courses on offer. This ensured that all pupils were given valuable information and their passion and expertise was clear to see. After 40 minutes each group moved onto the next event and the excitiement of each pupil was evident. After completing four different experiences, the pupils were left to ponder what course they would like to apply for.
