Part of a national Scottish Government initiative – Developing the Young Workforce (DYW) is the Scottish Government’s Youth Employment strategy, operating across 21 regional groups in Scotland.
DYW Fife is an employer led, regional group, set up to build local connections between businesses and education to ignite opportunities for Fife’s young people and help prepare them for the world of work.
Supported by DYW Fife, Fife’s schools and local College are already working collaboratively with both national and local businesses across a broad range of sectors, to deliver mentoring, careers sessions, skills development sessions, CV support, work placements, site visits, apprenticeships and much more to Fife’s young people.
Although there is no ‘one size fits all’ for business engagement, the DYW programme allows organisations to work flexibly with schools and find ways to engage which suit their business needs. Similarly, educational organisations work with businesses to support students in a way which meets their individual needs and aspirations.
