The Role
Working alongside experienced engineers, you’ll learn how to respond to gas emergencies, carry out installations, and maintain safe gas supplies across Scotland.
Key Duties
- Respond to reported gas emergencies
- Support the installation and replacement of gas meters
- Assist with installing, testing, and commissioning gas pipework
- Promote health and safety in all work activities
- Develop practical skills through on-the-job training and college learning
About You
- Have at least 3 National 5 qualifications (A–C), including Maths and English
- Interested in developing a career in the gas industry
- Committed to completing a 3-year apprenticeship programme
- Willing to gain a driving licence within 6–12 months if you do not already have one
- Motivated, reliable, and eager to learn
Training & Qualifications
- Work towards a Modern Apprenticeship in Gas Engineering
- Attend college on a block-release basis throughout the programme
- Receive support from experienced engineers and managers
- Gain industry-recognised qualifications leading to Gas Safe registration
