Project Description

Three-day virtual work experience with BAM Construction

Four young people from Bell Baxter High School recently attended the BAM Construction virtual work experience. They gained an insight into the multifaceted industry of construction. Understanding design, engineering, marketing & communication and all the behind scenes elements it takes to create a successful business.

The virtual work experience ran for three days between 10am-3pm. The young people who signed up for the experience interacted with members of BAM Construction’s project teams from across the UK & working on a range of modules.

The programme was aimed at young people interested in a career in the construction industry and to promote the wide range of roles, diverse skills, knowledge and talents which can be developed in the construction industry. BAM Construction highlighted flagship projects like the V&A Dundee, Coal Drops Yard London, Manchester City Football Academy to name just a few.

BAM Construction have been building in the UK since 1874. Offices, schools, hospitals, university departments, hotels, research labs, cultural venues, museums, travel hubs from the iconic to the purely functional. Over the years, several successful regional construction companies joined forces into one.

BAM Construction think it’s important for young people to get to know the reality behind the hard hats and the big diggers.

Feedback from the event was entirely positive.
