Project Description

Inspiring The Next Generation Of Hospitality Professionals At St. Andrew’s RC High School

Event

S3 Hospitality students attended The Old Course Hotel in St. Andrews to experience firsthand the many different jobs available in this sector at the NEFCA Hospitality, Tourism and Leisure Showcase.

Intended Outcomes

1.To give pupils the chance to speak to various employers and ask questions about how to work in the sector and what it is like to work in the sector.

2.Pupils also got the chance to participate in a range of different activities linked to the many job roles in this sector.

Pupils engaged with a range of activities with the businesses in attendance. We had students who worked with various businesses to make mocktails, decorated cakes and made small food dishes. Some engaged with leisure-based industries and took part in golfing activities. Some pupils worked outside to learn about grounds maintenance. Some took part in housekeeping challenges.

Throughout the morning pupils had the chance to ask lot of questions about working in the sector and how they could work on a pathway to getting into jobs in this sector.
