Project Description

This Foundation Apprenticeship in Business Skills will give candidates the opportunity to gain valuable business skills to aid them on their career journey. Candidates will learn about the different types of business, and the use of IT in Business and Management, along with practical skills in business environment. Candidates will work towards achieving a higher qualification in Business Skills and combining this with the opportunity to work on a live commercialisation project in conjunction with Fife Council’s Economic Development and Culture of Enterprise.

Candidates will work on the “In Footsteps to Kings project”, where they will be responsible for designing, creating, and marketing merchandise to sell and promote the In the Footsteps to Kings Augmented reality app. The Foundation Apprenticeship students will work with stakeholders and partners to produce high quality products, meeting demand expectations and sticking to product specification. They will need to work together to make the project a success. Each candidate will need to showcase their business acumen to be the best sales and marketing team to win contracts and orders.

  • Keen interest in developing key business skills
  • Advantageous for student to have either achieved (or be working towards) a Higher in English or Business Management

The course will be delivered virtually where work will be provided to the students. It will be the responsibility of the young people to grasp the tasks set and ensure they complete it in line with deadlines. The students will have regular webinars with their assessor, stakeholders, and the Economic Development team.
