Heriot Watt University is now offering January start dates for our Construction and the Built Environment Graduate Apprenticeships programme.
We’re now offering January start dates for our Construction and the Built Environment Graduate Apprenticeship programme. This webinar is an ideal opportunity to hear about the programme, as well as getting an employer’s perspective on the benefits it brings to the business.
What the webinar will cover
In this live webinar you’ll hear from Dr Graeme Bowles, programme lead for Heriot Watt’s Construction and the Built Environment (CBE) GA programme, and from one of our employer partners, Arcadis.
In particular, you’ll hear one of their own GA mentors, Craig Kercheran, who will give a great insight into the Arcadis approach to graduate apprenticeships and mentoring.
Graeme will provide an introduction to graduate apprenticeships with an overview of Heriot Watt’s CBE GA programme structure and contents. You’ll discover why the Graduate Apprenticeship model is an ideal way for industry to upskill existing employees or recruit new young talent. And why Heriot-Watt is the top-ranked university in Scotland for Building.
Craig will then share his insight into the Arcadis approach to Graduate Apprenticeships, including:
- Arcadis’ expectations of the students and the apprentice course.
- Why Arcadis have opted to go with graduate apprentices.
- Importance of getting dedicated members of staff to support the apprentices.
- Types of projects the apprentices are working on.
- What they’ve learned from the apprentices to date and how they can be more efficient.
One of the Arcadis GA students, Danielle Fallon, will also on the be webinar to share her experiences as a graduate apprentice.
The webinar will last around 40 minutes and you’ll have the opportunity to ask questions in our interactive Q&A.
