Project Description

The event, titled “A Day in the Life of a Glamcandy Student,” was organised to engage S3 beauty elective pupils at Beath High School and inspire them to consider careers in the creative industries, specifically makeup artistry. The activity emerged from the need to broaden students’ awareness of vocational education opportunities, particularly HNC/HND courses related to makeup artistry. The intended outcomes included:

  • Inspiring students to pursue careers in makeup artistry.
  • Raising awareness of the various courses available in this field.
  • Providing practical, hands-on experience in makeup application and artistry.

On September 12, 2023, twenty-three S3 beauty elective pupils from Beath High School attended the Glamcandy training studio in Dunfermline. The day was structured to provide an immersive and interactive experience with the following planned activities:

  1. Makeup Demonstration: A professional Glamcandy makeup artist showcased techniques and styles.
  1. Student Demos: Pupils worked in pairs, applying what they learned by recreating the morning’s demo using provided makeup supplies.
  1. Feedback Session: Tutors offered personalised feedback to elevate students’ skillsets.
  1. Face Chart Workshop: Students learned how professional makeup artists plan their looks.
  1. Presentation: Information was provided on life as an HNC or HND student at Glamcandy, detailing the opportunities available in the industry.
