Project Description

Developing the Young Workforce in Fife (DYW Fife) is delighted to launch its new app to help young people to dive into the world of work, from wherever they are.

Delivering as part of the Government’s employability strategy, DYW (Fife) is the employer led, regional group, set up in Fife to create stronger connections between local employers, education and young people and better prepare young people for the world of work.

In the app, young people can engage with and learn from local employers, read helpful articles, take part in polls, discover career opportunities, placements or apprenticeships, enter competitions and win exciting prizes. From Healthcare to Engineering or Tourism to Science, Technology or Construction, there’s something for everyone.

The DYW app has been developed in partnership between Fife Council and Fife-based technology company, Ember Technology Ltd, to create more ways for employers, education providers and Skills Development Scotland to work together to support young people as they consider their future and potential pathways into the world of work.

With the promotion of positive career opportunities and pathway options in a fun and interactive way as central to the app’s offering, the aim is to develop the employability skills of Fife’s young people and give them greater confidence in choosing the right pathway for them, at their own pace, accessed from anywhere and at any time.
