Project Description

The DYW sessions in the five Special Schools in Fife continue to thrive with young people exploring and taking part in a wide range of activities, careers and opportunities.

One of the recent highlights has been visiting the Community Trades Hub where the young people learned about the job of a Painter and Decorator. Each young person had a section of wall to paint with creative license on colour schemes and patterns.

One school put their newly acquired skills to use to paint canvases and sell them at their Christmas Fair as a fundraiser.

While at the Trades Hub, the young people also got a tour of the premises to see the different types of equipment used for different trades. A highlight for some was getting to saw a piece of wood in half and see the mechanical saw.

We hope to continue giving the young people in the Special Schools the Trades Hub experience into 2023 and beyond.
