Project Description
Babcock International Group hosted a Teachers Insight Day to support Fife Secondary schools when helping to shape career pathways. Teachers were on site to see Ship building in action along with understanding more about roles open to pupils transitioning from education to the workplace.
Feedback and quotes about the day from our teachers below!

It was a very insightful day, It allowed me to think about how best to steer pupils towards apprenticeships , that we could run a careers day based on apprenticeships routes and pathways. It was great to form links with Babcock and work on forming a relationship with them to support BGE and senior school . An example is English have asked if we could arrange for Babcock to support CV writing workshops that in turn supports English with report writing units. I am keen to form a stronger relationship with Babcock as they need a big future workforce and will need to tap into schools in FIFE that are from the East. It was very beneficial to hear the apprenticeships journeys and for young adults to share their stories that maybe school was not the right environment for them, but they are now succeeding in the world of work, that is an important message to share with all pupils.

I found it really useful to see firsthand the site, the opportunities and support available at Babcock for our young people.

The Babcock Teachers Insight Day was an incredibly valuable experience. It offered a fascinating look into the day-to-day operations within the industry and highlighted a range of career pathways and opportunities available to our young people. As a teacher, gaining this insight helps me better support and guide pupils in making informed choices about their futures.
Thank you to Babcock for hosting us!
