Are you a parent aged 16-30 and looking to take your next step towards employment?
The Get Into NHS – Parents programme is a free four-week pre-employment programme designed to help young parents in Fife develop their employability skills and explore career opportunities within the NHS. Delivered by The King’s Trust in partnership with NHS Fife, The Cottage Family Centre and Fife Gingerbread, the programme combines practical career support with an insight into NHS roles and recruitment.
What’s Included?
- Employability skills and career support
- Insight into careers and opportunities within the NHS
- Guidance and preparation for NHS recruitment processes
- One-to-one support to build your confidence and develop your CV
- Support to search and apply for NHS and healthcare roles
- Help understanding NHS values and using your own experiences to strengthen applications
- Opportunities to progress into traineeships or placements across NHS Fife departments
- Tailored support following completion of the programme
Additional Support
- Childcare costs reimbursed
- Public transport costs reimbursed
- Lunch provided after each session
- Your own youth worker to provide individual support
- Support to access an NHS TURAS training account
- Ongoing support towards opportunities within the NHS
Who Can Take Part?
- Parents aged 16-30
- Currently unemployed, or underemployed and working fewer than 16 hours per week
- If in education or training, attending fewer than 12 hours per week
