About the Role
As a Lab Technician you will care for zooplankton in an aquaculture setting, performing animal
husbandry, tank maintenance, and health checks. You will collaborate with our R&D team to conduct experiments, and contribute to accurate data collection. You will also maintain systems cleanliness and follow biosecurity measures. This role is ideal for those seeking experience in aquaculture or wanting their first role in the industry.
Key Responsibilities:
● Help conduct experiments and studies involving zooplankton
● Assist in daily health checks and tank monitoring
● Clean aquaculture systems to the highest standard
● Report system issues and help carry out maintenance when needed
Skills and Qualifications:
● Background in aquaculture/marine biology is preferred but not required
● Good physical fitness for hands on work in a lab environment
● Experience with accurate data inputting with an ability to spot patterns and trends
● Excellent organisation, time management, and attention to detail
● Confident communicator, self-motivated and curious to try new things outside of your
expertise and task area
● Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment
● A do-er mentality, determined to see through actions and drive the project forward
