Start your career in software development while working towards a fully funded BSc (Hons) in IT Management with the University of Dundee. This is a great opportunity to gain hands-on experience while developing your technical skills in a real business environment.

The Role

You’ll support the development and maintenance of software systems used across the business, working closely with IT and operational teams while building your knowledge through practical experience and study.

Key Duties

  • Assist with developing, testing, and maintaining software systems
  • Support system improvements, updates, and bug fixes
  • Help produce reports, dashboards, and data insights
  • Work with business systems (e.g. ERP, MES)
  • Support data handling, validation, and system integration
  • Contribute to testing and technical documentation

Study Commitment

  • 1 day per week at university
  • Additional independent study alongside work
  • 4-year Graduate Apprenticeship programme

About You

  • Strong interest in software development and technology
  • Good problem-solving and communication skills
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team
  • Basic knowledge of programming (e.g. Python, Java, C# or JavaScript)

Knowledge of databases, SQL, or systems is a bonus

Entry Requirements

You must meet University of Dundee entry criteria (e.g. relevant Highers, Apprenticeship, HNC/HND, or experience).
