Grounds for Growth Programme | Rural Skills Scotland

Location: Fife

Contract: 13 Weeks

Closing Date: 02/10/2023

Rural Skills Scotland are about to recruit for the next intake of our popular Grounds for Growth programme .  There are 2 courses commencing on Monday 2nd October; one in the Lochore Meadows area and one in the Silverburn (Leven) area.

For participants…..

You will undertake an initial 5-week introductory programme which will provide you with training in First Aid +F, Health and Safety, Manual Handling and an industry recognised certificate in Brush Cutting and Strimming. You will have the opportunity to take part in a variety of outdoor based tasks to begin to gain experience. Finally, although this part of the programme is unpaid, you will be provided with a bus ticket, appropriate PPE and work 4 days per week, usually Monday to Thursday.

After the initial programme you will be guaranteed an interview for a 13 week full time waged programme which is paid at the Scottish Living wage level. During this period, you will be given the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects, building on the skills you will have already gained whilst learning new ones. During the 13 week waged programme we would look to secure you with an opportunity to work on placement with a local employer, allowing you to gain further skills and boost your C.V.

To qualify for the programme, you must be unemployed.  There are currently no age restrictions on the programme.
