What is the Business Support team responsible for?

The team provide professional and comprehensive administrative support to leaders across the business. This involves managing diaries, keeping an eye on the central mailbox, fielding internal and external telephone calls, printing and lots more! As part of this experienced team, you’ll be working closely with them on any of these tasks and as you get more confident taking on your own tasks and workload.

What are the ongoing responsibilities of the Business Support Trainee – Investment20/20

  • Effective email system management of Martin Currie inquires inbox ensuring emails are responded to appropriately and in a timely manner.
  • Effective diary management for Business Support ensuring optimum use of available time.
  • As necessary, provide diary management support to other Business Support staff to support busier periods or holiday cover for other members of the Business Support team.
  • Carry out daily, weekly, monthly and ad hoc reporting with accuracy and in a timely manner.
  • Effective fielding of internal and external telephone calls.
  • Assist with printing and binding jobs as required.
  • Maintain good working relationships externally and internally dealing with any work as part of a virtual team with Executive Assistants and Business Support Administrator and provide support in all aspects of office management.

What qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?

  • Any administrative experience would be helpful, but not essential
  • A ‘people person’ with a strong work ethic, keen to learn and to develop an understanding of the business
  • Experience with Microsoft Office would be helpful
  • Good organisation, communication skills and time management skills
  • Good attention to detail
  • Highly motivated and enthusiastic about providing an excellent service to customers
  • A willingness to change and adapt in an evolving virtual environment
  • Ability to work as part of a team
